Project 2 - Morph Animation
The second task we were set was a collaboration between the entire class. We were handed a piece of paper and told to draw something - anything - on it, trace the picture and hand the second piece of paper to the person on our left. We all ended up with two pictures (in my case a snail and a football) and were then told to transform one picture into the other within 17 frames using key frame animation. Upon their completion we would be able to scan and colour our animations in Adobe Flash and then splice them all together using Adobe After Effects, creating a looping morph.
I think my attempt was fairly successful! The task was not particularly difficult, especially considering I had two pictures that were ultimately fairly similar and required minimal change. I am quite pleased with the colour gradation, though ultimately the same applies to colour here as it does with shape. It is not particularly difficult to gradient white to any colour.
As for the overall project between us all I'd say that we could have communicated better regarding colour. For example, my final snail frame is not the same colour as the final snail frame as the person to my left, which cause a sudden jump in colour rather than a gradual change.
