Storyboard about my character (whom I think is called Maureen) and how she came to be a cog in a giant machine of bureaucratic dogma from outer space. Who thought it possible? Certainly not Maureen, which is probably how she came to be in this mess. Keep your eyes on the sky, kids.

Life Drawing - City
Character designed for the city. She is very old and very blind and used by a race of extremely bureaucratic aliens to take over planet Earth and implement a very large network of pointless procedures that eventually dull and break the will of all mankind. This is why there are so many town halls in Coat Reddington - for they have already begun the invasion.

Life Drawing - City
A map of the city we created earlier in the year, now dubbed Coat Reddington after my infamous red coat and drawn by Iwan. Pretty sure the skull represents the giant monster rabbit on the far east of the drawing.
We are going to create characters that we think would inhabit the city and create stories surrounding them.
Mine will deal with the giant number of cathedral / town halls in the city and also perhaps explain the number of aliens dotted around the place.

Life Drawing

A new model! Wow.
Some fairly long observational drawings starting at 5 minutes up to 40 minutes. Its been a while since I've done any long observational drawing and I think it's noticeable that I've gotten a lot faster at drawing the human figure. I'm still ridiculously slow, but I'm improving. I also think Sue is a lot long that I've made out here, the pictures make her look stockier and shorter which is pretty much the opposite of Sue.

We modelled for each other while drawing the person opposite to us and rotating every 2 minutes. Some inconsistency in terms of height but otherwise they're not that bad. Still too slow though and I probably need to use a softer pencil, it comes out too light.

We then moved on to Steve modelling in a very narrative manner. As we're basically doing our life drawing in a tip at the moment, Steve used the props left behind by the ever so diligent film students to his advantage. I used pens here to try and make the pictures darker and more visible. I ended up using a very ink heavy style which came out very graphic, like a comic book.

Steve rolling around on a bed. I think I was getting a little tired by this point, the art seems to be slipping.

Animation Practice - Lovearts
the two variants for my lovearts animation
took a while to get the sound right because i hadn't really got much of an idea as to what i was doing. got it in the end though, i think it's in sync?
sound still isn't my forte, i think that'll be the main problem with the animations. i think maybe i should have included some reaction sounds from the character too.

A collection of scans of the frames we did for Elroy's traditional workshop! We had to create a character for a band and give them and instrument, then use them as an example of overlapping animation. In this case the hillbilly is bouncing while playing his banjo. I'm not so sure if it's brilliantly define though, could probably use more frames. Having said that I'm not sure how to make him bounce fast if I was going to use a lot of frames, so I think this is probably the best I'm going to get

Animation Practice
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/ebfd587c81c6eccc1dde74129af29e4d
A test for the ball of static that will fly on screen in my project.
Pretty simple enough, surprised it took so long for me to figure it out. Generated a few panels of noise in photoshop, turned them into a symbol on flash, covered them with a white shape and then erased the parts of the shape i wanted to become the ball of noise. Works pretty well I think! Bit worried about whether it would look contrasted against my character but that is a minor issue that I will check later.
Sound has still not been delivered, cannot apply anything I don't have. Need to get this guy to give me something soon.
